ClearWiki Acceptable Use Policy
Who this policy applies to
This Acceptable Use Policy
applies to everyone who uses the ClearWiki website or a Wiki made available
by ClearWiki.
Changes
ClearWiki may change the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time by posting an updated version on the ClearWiki website. It is your responsibility
to check for updates. Your use of the ClearWiki Services confirms
that you agree to the terms of the then current version of this Acceptable Use Policy.
Definitions
ClearWiki Services
and Content
have a particular meaning in this Acceptable Use Policy,
which we outline at the end.
Your use of the ClearWiki Services
You may only use the ClearWiki Services
in a reasonable and proper manner. Set out below is a non-exhaustive
list of examples of what is considered to be unreasonable or improper
use of the ClearWiki Services.
You must not use the ClearWiki Services
to upload, post, or transmit any Content that:
- is unlawful, harmful, threatening,
abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, pornographic,
invasive of anothers privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or
otherwise objectionable;
- promotes or provides instructional
information about illegal activities, physical harm against any group
or individual, or that promotes any act of cruelty to animals; or
- contains software viruses
or any other computer code or files designed to interrupt, destroy,
or limit the functionality of any computer software, hardware, or telecommunications
equipment (including the ClearWiki Services).
You must not use the ClearWiki Services:
- to abuse, harass, or stalk
ClearWiki or anyone else;
- in any way or for any purpose
that is illegal or that infringes the rights (including, without limitation,
the intellectual property rights) of ClearWiki or of anyone else;
- to collect personal information
about anyone else for a purpose those persons have not agreed to; or
- to send or post spam or other
unsolicited Content.
You must not:
- interfere with or disrupt
the ClearWiki Services, or any software, hardware, networks, or telecommunications
services that underlie the ClearWiki Services;
- infringe the intellectual
property rights of ClearWiki or anyone else;
- except as expressly permitted
by law, reverse engineer, make adaptations or derivative works of any
part (including, without limitation, the functions, layout, user interface,
design, and look-and-feel) of the ClearWiki Services;
- attempt to circumvent any
restrictions we place on your account or your use of the ClearWiki Services;
- crawl, scrape, or use any
other automated means to analyse any Wiki other than one you administrate
or that you have been invited to use;
- make excessive use of the
ClearWiki Services;
- do anything that would adversely
affect the proper operation of the ClearWiki Services, or anyone elses
use of the ClearWiki Services;
- impersonate anyone else or
make false representations when you register for or use the ClearWiki
Services;
- directly or indirectly let
anyone else use the ClearWiki Services or have access to your ClearWiki
account; or
- assist or permit anyone else
to do anything that you must not do under this Acceptable
Use Policy.
What you must do
You must:
- use the ClearWiki Services
only if you have been invited to do so by ClearWiki or a Wiki
administrator under a valid subscription;
- abide by the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy as may be amended from time to time;
- comply with any notices and
instructions that are displayed as part of the ClearWiki Services or
that may be emailed to you;
- comply with all applicable
laws and regulations including any local laws and regulations; and
- keep your userID and password
secure and not disclose it to anyone else;
- immediately notify
ClearWiki as soon as you become aware that the ClearWiki Services or
your ClearWiki account will or may be subject to unauthorised access
or use.
What ClearWiki can do
ClearWiki reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to terminate, suspend, restrict, and monitor
your access to the ClearWiki Services, and to delete any Content, at
any time for any reason without notice.
You hereby grant to ClearWiki, at no charge, a licence to use, analyse, modify, adapt, develop and
display Your Content, and grant sublicenses of any of those rights to other persons, for the purpose
of providing the ClearWiki Services to you and your Authorised Users (which includes placing advertising
on Your Wiki if thats part of your subscription plan).
Definitions
When we use the following terms in this Acceptable Use Policy, theyve got a particular meaning:
ClearWiki Services means
the online services accessible via the Wiki you have permission to access,
and includes all Wikis and ClearWikis own website.
Content means everything
that you create by use of the ClearWiki Services or that you upload,
post or transmit to or via the ClearWiki Services (including, without
limitation, all documents, files, text, images, audio, video, data,
and information).
